This urban redevelopment project is a showcase project in downtown Flint’s revitalization efforts. The 500 Block Development transforms three historic buildings built between 1880 and 1920 into one mixed-use building.
The ground floor is designed for restaurant use, the second and third floors are for the new offices of ROWE Professional Services Company, a surveying/civil engineering firm, and the fourth floor has eight large up-scale loft apartments.
The new front facade is reminiscent of historic traditional downtown facades with its stone arched windows and red brick, and incorporates a contemporary tilted glass atrium which defines the building’s entry. The interior exposes the brick and steel structure, which gives the development a sleek, industrial feeling.
