Wade Trim Building
The Wade Trim Building is a mixed use urban development project located on Saginaw Street in downtown Flint, Michigan. The original three buildings were demolished due to failing structural conditions and economic feasibility.
The new building houses multiple “incubator” tenant spaces on the first floor, with frontage on both Saginaw Street and a new plaza with bench seating and green areas. The second floor houses the new offices for Wade Trim, a 50 person civil engineering firm, designed with a very contemporary floor plan and visually exciting suspended ceiling “clouds” in addition to a unique reception and lobby area. Four loft units occupy the third floor with hardwood floors, granite countertops, stainless steel appliances, and beautiful daylighting with views both to the main street downtown and overlooking the new plaza.
THA provided full architectural and engineering services for the building including planning for an underground parking area in the basement level and the design for the new plaza. We provided in-depth cost estimates in addition to graphic renderings for use in marketing and acquisition of grant dollars.
